Mid Suffolk Cottage Master Bedroom & Ensuite Transformation
This charming cottage renovation reimagines a complex architectural space into a warm, character-filled retreat. The brief called for a seamless blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, an invitation to slow down and feel at home.
In the master bedroom, floral wallpaper was a key inspiration, softening the exposed beams and creating a gentle dialogue between old and new. A cosy bed tucked beneath the eaves, dressed in crisp white linens, soft grey pillows, and a quilted green throw, echoes the palette and pattern, tying the space together with quiet elegance.
Storage was essential, so a built-in mirrored wardrobe was designed to make the most of the sloped ceiling. The mirrors reflect natural light and visually expand the room, while open shelving adds both function and flair.
The ensuite continues the story with a freestanding tub nestled under timber beams, offering a spa-like sanctuary. The floral wallpaper reappears here, framed by woodwork to create continuity and a touch of vintage romance. Candlelight, greenery, and thoughtful styling evoke a sense of intimacy and calm.
This project celebrates the quirks of cottage architecture, elevating everyday rituals into moments of beauty and reflection. It’s a space designed to be lived in, loved, and lingered in.
